Cultural and creative industries

The audiovisual arts and the performing arts play an essential role in the creation of cultural content in the Spanish language. Castilla y León boasts an important tradition of production and creation in both sectors, reinforced by a considerable range of events that take place throughout the year and all over the region.

A variety of film industry contests and festivals are held in Castilla y León, encouraging the general public to enjoy this type of content. The most important of these events is undoubtedly SEMINCI - Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid, whose 67th edition will be held in 2022. SEMINCI was distinguished by the Observatorio de la Cultura (Culture Observatory) as the 27th most outstanding cultural event in Spain for 2021.
